Optima MedWise

Optima MedWise is software solution, provided by Cognizant, that enables insurers to better manage worker’s compensation claims leakage, processing, and costs. We were brought in to help enhance and grow the platform with two new features, Medical Record Summarization and Claimant Dashboard.

Once our user has signed in, they can see a list of medical record summaries. The user can clearly see summaries that are active and can be view. Similarly they can see medical record summaries that are still in progress and not yet viewable.

Using OCR (Optical Character Recognition), our user is able to see the data on medical records but not just from a PDF with hand written notes. They see the claimant’s medical record listed out in a clear and legible format in a side by side view with the original document. 

If needed, either because of sloppy handwriting or other forms of error, the user is able edit and correct the data in the medical record summary. They are also able to add content and provide more context in the event the medical record needs to be viewed by another professional. 

The second feature enhancement was a Claimant Dashboard, which enables the user to see any documents and relevant events that occur for an individual claimant. Claimants sometimes have multiple claims, numerous events and records being created in a year or even a month. So we provided our user with a dynamic zoom bar which enables them to narrow down to specific months, if needed to find an individual event or document.
