Impact Hub

Impact Hub is a global network of technology professionals as well as a start up accelerator for products and companies focusing on positive impact. They approached us to help create an online platform for their members to connect and stay informed about current events within this global community.

When creating a professional social networking platform, users need to be able to create a profile and connect with one another. However, we wanted our users to do more than just see profiles, and since our users frequently work in groups spread across the globe, we provided them with the capability to message back and forth with their groups within the platform.

Sometimes it can be awkward connecting with people you don’t know. It’s easier if you have someone there to help make the introduction. For this platform, we created a ‘Global Host’ to be the professional liaison. Using natural language processing and the information provided by users when creating their profiles, the Global Host can connect entrepreneurs and start up teams with talented professionals.

The process of creating this platform consisted of prototyping group messaging functionality, natural language processing, social networking functionality, and providing users the ability to consume content in the form of news feeds and articles.
